My Students

I have students who come from various family, social, and economic backgrounds. Some have had smooth academic careers thus far, and others are fighting tooth and nail to earn their marks.

My students have the potential to change the world.

My school has a rich history of rigorous academics, and pushes each and every student to reach their full potential. My district is comprised of various demographics; some parents work on farms to make a living, while others commute to cities nearby.

My Project

My students need six Safco AlphaBetter stand up desks to complete our comfortable dynamic classroom makeover. Students will use the requested standing desks each and every day in my classroom. Some students, no matter how hard they try, cannot sit still and learn. They need to be up moving around, or at the very minimal not confined to the space their seat holds. These desks will allow those students who learn better standing and moving to be actively involved in their learning process while being engaged with the class. Students will have the opportunity to use these desks to also collaborate with other students to accomplish learning tasks during class.

Classrooms need to change to help our students.

Differentiation in classes is a hot topic in the world of education. Yet the environment in which students learn is never included in this discussion. Donations to help purchase these desks may truly change the school experiences my students will encounter. Getting to use these standing desks will allow students to be excited about learning. Isn't that the true goal of education?
