My Students

Each day, our culturally and economically diverse class immerses themselves into math, reading, writing, and social exploration that allows them to explore worlds and find their voices. Our classroom is a safe place where there are no mistakes, only teaching moments and growth. Growth is celebrated and goal setting expected.

Students are encouraged to take charge of their learning daily!

The love they have for learning and mastering skills makes it easy to love teaching them. There is no place for standardized practice worksheets in our room!

My Project

The best way to motivate students to read is to allow them to choose their reading materials. Students shop for 7-10 just right books that they use during the week to tag and practice reading comprehension skills. Last year this model worked well, but keeping the books organized was a challenge.

The seat sacks will keep our books safe, organized, and easy to access to ensure the maximization of our learning time.

Thank you for considering funding our classroom seat sack project. We will maximize the use of our diverse classroom library from day 1 to day 180, year after year.
