The bright, engaging pictures make such a difference for early readers who rely on visual support to build understanding and excitement.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are developing a love of reading and discovering that learning can be fun, meaningful, and connected to the real world. Our lunchroom is very noisy and I had students unhappy about eating lunch. Now, about 5 of my students consistently wear them to lunch. I also have a few students who wear them daily in the classroom. When asked about why they wear them, students say the headphones help them feel safe, feel quiet, it helps them work better, helps to focus on math, and feel happy at lunch. \r\n\r\nWhile I haven't used them yet, some of my collogues have used the wobbly stools in their classrooms. We received enough headphones to be able to share with multiple classrooms in our elementary school. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited to be able to have access to these headphones. They have been using them during our work times, especially when they are working independently but others are working in small groups. This ability to be able to better focus and tune out the noise and distractions around them has had an incredibly positive impact not only their focus and work completion, but also on their confidence and satisfaction in their own work. \r\n\r\nThe use of the noise cancelling headphones has been particularly helpful for the students in my class that struggle with ignoring those around them. Additionally, it has been very helpful for those that enjoy quiet while they are working and not having to work to ignore the distractions. I look forward seeing the continued positive effects of the use of these headphones.","fullyFundedDate":1740066477324,"projectUrl":"project/noise-cancelling-headphones-to-help-stud/9064806/","projectTitle":"Noise Cancelling Headphones to Help Student Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilkie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp135430_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1625775627008","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chris-wilkie"},{"teacherId":2913560,"projectId":8955874,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my project! It has been so gratifying to see students enjoying an alternative to our noisy lunchroom. \r\n\r\nStudents are enjoying all of the new games they have to choose from when they come to the library for lunch. I appreciate that now I have a wide range of games and activities that students can enjoy depending on their grade level. There is the standard version of Banangrams, but also a junior version that is more accessible to younger learners. The same applies to Scrabble. The floor versions of Checkers and Tic-Tac-Toe have been very popular as well. \r\n\r\nAs an added benefit, I've found a way to incorporate two permanent puzzle tables in our library (one easier puzzle and one more challenging puzzle). This way every student who visits the library can enjoy puzzle time. \r\n\r\nThank you again for contributing to my project.
