My Students
My scholars attend an inner city elementary technology school that is surrounded by a low-economic neighborhood. These students don't have the advantages that most students in affluent and middle class neighborhoods do. These students are in a special education setting that ranges from second to fifth grade.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, and nearly half are English Language Learners.
Most of my students are not yet on grade level. Our school is working every day to revitalize our community and rebuild the space to craft the perfect environment for kids to learn, grow, and have fun.
My Project
My scholars are hardworking and very eager to learn. Due to the pandemic, we started the 2020 - 2021 school year off remotely. Approaching the end of the second week of school, it feels like my students don't have the basic materials at home in order to assist them during distance learning.
Not having the basic necessities can create a challenge when learning from home.
These writing utensils and notebooks will make it easier for the students to focus on their assignments rather than worry about whether the paper they found is acceptable to write on.
