This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My name is Sara Brown and I'm teaching 1st Grade at a school which is a lower Social Economic Status school for students. This will be my 10th year teaching and my 3rd year at my school! Go Bulls! My students' families really struggle to bring in classroom supplies from their school supply list. I only had 3 families bring in supplies this year. I have received assistance from my administration with supplies, but they also need to distribute them to every other classroom who struggle with supplies as well. I have also donated hundreds of dollars to my classroom, but as a new mom I can't sustain the financial need of my classroom. So here I am asking for the bare necessities for my students.
All items in my project are for the students to use to sustain their health, to organize their materials, and to increase their learning potentials.
I will be using the Clorox Wipes and Tissues to help keep my students healthy and my classroom clean. I will use the Line-Up Stickers to show my new students how to line up quickly, quietly, and efficiently. I will use the Carpet Spots for the students to know where they will sit on the learning carpet to reduce student playfulness while learning. Students will have their reusable dry erase sleeves and small expo markers to work on graphic organizers as whole group or small group. The File Organizer and the Folder Organizer will be used to organize student small group work folders and activities so that they will be able to grab what is needed quickly.
