This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title One school where resources and funds are limited. Most students receive free or reduced price lunch and assistance through our food backpack program. Many of my children's first educational experience is my kindergarten classroom. I am currently teaching twenty different children from very different backgrounds how to read, become mathematicans, scientists and productive members of our society.
My school is a choice school for the STEAM program.
We implement science, technology, engineering, the arts and math to help the students learn better and more!
My Project
My students need a listening center to help them become independent, engaged and intentional learners. We are asking for a listening station hub and six wireless headphones. We will use this listening center for small guided reading lessons, sight word practice, directive art, math practice and more!
Your generous donation to our project will improve our kindergarten classroom by building stronger readers, writers and mathematicians.
The students' books will become interactive by the teacher digitally recording a lesson and asking the students to respond by pointing, highlighting, circling or other reading strategies. Students can practice math independently through guided lessons that have previously been recorded.
