In our art room, students often complete work at different speeds, and the new markers, glue, and paper allow them to stay engaged instead of waiting for others to finish. When students complete a project, they can move to our \"early finisher station\" where they create their own drawings, collages, and small design challenges using the materials you provided.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies arrived, the students were immediately excited. Bright markers and fresh paper are always a big hit in an art classroom, and several students asked right away if they could start making their own creations. It was wonderful to see them so eager to keep creating, even after finishing their assigned work.\r\n\r\nThe next step is incorporating these materials into ongoing creative challenges. Students will be able to experiment with mini-projects like collage art, character design, and collaborative drawings while their classmates finish larger projects. These activities help them practice creativity, problem-solving, and artistic exploration while keeping our classroom productive and positive.\r\n\r\nYour support helps make sure every student always has the opportunity to create. Students applied plaster to the cardboard to create realistic brick textures, learning how artists and designers use texture, layering, and recycled materials to build believable environments. A memorable moment was watching students collaborate and problem-solve when the plaster cracked or dried unevenly—they experimented with thickness, timing, and technique rather than giving up.\r\n\r\nStudents will continue refining their brick walls by painting and adding details to enhance realism. They will complete their product displays and reflect on how texture, color, and presentation affect how a product is perceived. This process has taught them organization, respect for materials, and a sense of pride in caring for something that they enjoy using.\r\n\r\nThe donation has given us enough Play-Doh to last the rest of the year, so we can continue building these important skills. The construction paper gave them a sturdy, bright foundation that really made their ideas come alive.\r\n\r\nWhen our second and third graders began their complementary trees project, the new construction paper became the foundation for everything. Having such a wide variety meant they had the freedom to explore and make creative choices with confidence.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will be using this construction paper for even bigger projects. In the coming weeks, my fourth and fifth graders will be experimenting with mixed-media art, combining painted backgrounds with cut-paper designs.
