This process has taught them organization, respect for materials, and a sense of pride in caring for something that they enjoy using.\r\n\r\nThe donation has given us enough Play-Doh to last the rest of the year, so we can continue building these important skills. We use it every single week for different projects, from painting on colorful backgrounds to making collages, cut-paper designs, and drawings. Recently, we started a project where younger students practiced their cutting and gluing skills by creating fall pumpkins, while older students explored layering and texture to make abstract collages titled \"Autumn Cottages\". The construction paper gave them a sturdy, bright foundation that really made their ideas come alive.\r\n\r\nWhen our second and third graders began their complementary trees project, the new construction paper became the foundation for everything. Each student chose one color of paper and then had to identify its complementary color to paint with. When the boxes arrived, the excitement was immediate—students were thrilled to see every color they might need already waiting for them. Having such a wide variety meant they had the freedom to explore and make creative choices with confidence.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will be using this construction paper for even bigger projects. In the coming weeks, my fourth and fifth graders will be experimenting with mixed-media art, combining painted backgrounds with cut-paper designs. Kindergarten and first grade will continue practicing their fine motor skills by making collages and learning about shapes. Each new project builds creativity, confidence, and skill.
