A typical day in my classroom is energetic, creative, and fast-paced. I teach four Art courses, one course of Student Council, and I also sponsor the entire senior class every year. My students work extremely hard to come together and develop their skills, both in and out the classroom.
My school is situated in the middle of a struggling community.
Our population is largely Hispanic, and many of our students are English Language Learners. The students at my school view many of our school organizations as a second family and support system.
My Project
In providing this scanner/copier, we will be able to scan student artwork to allow them to build a portfolio in a digital format, and to make a physical copy for contest purposes. With this ability, we will be able to print copies of example artwork for assignments so that the students can have a visual reference. This will also allow us to scan and print items needed for our senior class, which increases by the year with limited printing options.
By being able to make copies directly in my classroom, I will be able to use my time more effectively for my students.
Additionally, my students will be able to access this printer and copier for their projects, scholarship applications, resumes, and more.
