My students need three butterfly life cycle kits and four copies of Velma Gratch and the Way Cool Butterfly. I plan to use the butterfly kits in the spring.
I have 19 amazing first grade students. They come to school each day with big smiles on their faces and are ready to learn. My students come to school excited to experience new things and are eager to learn about the world around them.
We have a lot of pride in our school and community.
My school is innovative and offers a wide variety of school clubs to give opportunities to students that many probably wouldn't have otherwise.
They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers... They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.
My Project
I am asking for three butterfly life cycle kits and five copies of Velma Gratch and the Way Cool Butterfly. I plan to use the butterfly kits in the Spring when my students are learning about the animal life cycles. After reading about Velma Gratch and the butterfly, my students will use these butterfly kits in our classroom to watch the daily the life cycle of the butterfly. The kids will be able observe this process (caterpillar to butterfly) daily and write about their observations.
This project will excitement and science into my classroom and it will improve my classroom because my students will be able to experience the life cycle of the butterfly first hand.
This project will will change the lives of my students because they will be able to have a hands-on science experience that some students might not have the ability to experience in nature.
