My Students
Our preschool program serves children ages 3 to 5 from predominantly low-income families that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The families cover a wide range of cultures. Commonly, one of the first things I need to do is to help make the child comfortable with school. With the unforeseen pandemic, this year we will remain in distance learning until it is safe to return for in-person learning.
My Project
It is important to provide basic materials during distance learning without putting this burden on parents who are already struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic. The children will be using beads, teddy bears, linking cubes, and clipboards during distance learning. They will practice lacing, play sorting and counting games with these materials.
These alphabet beads and clipboards will allow my children to learn the letters and trace their names through hands-on and fun activities during distance learning. These materials will promote language, literacy and basic math skills for my children.
