Help me give my students access to Scholastic Art magazine as a resource to integrate English Language Arts within the visual art curriculum .

"Creating the Future Today!" is the mission statement for my school, which believes in the power of the arts to reach and teach! Our pre-K through grade 8 school of over 400 students is a public, urban, high-poverty school in which all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our family of staff and students make up a diverse community with Hispanic, African, Middle-Eastern and European roots. Each student attends art education classes all year based on State of Ohio Standards for the Visual Arts.
My STEM school follows a PBL, or project-based learning, curriculum in which students are challenged to seek creative solutions to problems through a hands-on, investigative approach to learning.
Thank you for visiting my Donors Choose page and for your support of art education!
My students need increased opportunities to apply reading and writing skills across the curriculum. One of my school's current academic goals is to increase students' reading and writing scores on the state test. One of our strategies is to integrate reading and writing throughout the curriculum in order to reinforce learning occurring in the English Language Arts' classroom.
The donations to my project will allow students to have Scholastic Art magazine articles as a resource for learning about current art topics, increasing knowledge about art history and art techniques and will help them acquire appropriate art vocabulary.
In addition, students will use the magazines as a resource for writing assignments in the visual art classroom that relate to the creation of their art projects.
