This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine a car dealership and the red, good-looking car that catches your attention. Then when you take it on a test drive the ride is so responsive and smooth, you glide around the corners, and it feels as if you are flying. At our school, we had that kind of tricycle. It was red, handsome, well-built, and responded to the twist of the wrist, curving around corners. Every child wanted to ride that trike. It was wonderful for teaching patience, sharing, as well as developing muscles.

The truth is that we still have that tricycle, but the two inches of solid rubber that was once the tire has worn off.

It slips when it starts now without the grip of the tire and does not glide as well, but it is still a favorite.

The tricycle I am requesting is the same as our old tricycle, but this one will have a tire. This tricycle has proven to be the best I have ever found. It can last over fifteen years of riding by nearly a thousand students who loved it until the rubber worn down and slipped off.

My young four- to six-year-old students live in a low-income area and receive free breakfasts and lunches each day. They learn best through play. I would like them to have a tricycle that is not worn down to the rim to help them have fun developing strong muscles, social skills, and patience.
