Close to 77% of our students are living at or below poverty level. This is understandably challenging for many, but, for these students, it accelerates their determination and enthusiasm towards a positive learning environment. Their appreciation for the little things shown or given to them is inspiring to all.
Every child deserves the best resources that will provide opportunities to help guide their success in learning for the future.
The students from my school community should be given every possibility to succeed in spite of life's challenges.
My Project
Students enjoy learning to music. Making movements to the beat and rhythm of music inspires them to listen as they move. They will incorporate games with movement patterns in a large and small group setting. They will learn the value of working together and build friendships as they engage in a lesson that involves music. The CD player will provide the students with the experience of movement and music outside of the classroom.
Combining music and physical activity will help improve coordination, language, and reasoning skills.
It will help students build teamwork. It will contribute to the learning of daily social skills. The students will be more engaged in the activity, and this, in return, will reduce discipline problems. Students will learn self-discipline. The students will gain a better understanding of their own personal space, and they will leave with a strong sense of accomplishment.
