My Students

Our students will produce a news/announcement show for a local cable TV station. This will broadcast for the entire school district to view and any cable subscribers in our school district boundaries. Video production is the new frontier for these students!

All students are beginning to experiment in the video creating world.

Some are just wanting to learn "how to" while others carry a camera with them ready to capture the next news story. This broadcasting opportunity will also provide the serious student learning opportunities that will help them in their professional pursuit in the media field.

My Project

When recording any video, sound is very important!My students need a quality microphone for our first year of student broadcasting class. If your audio has a hum or has background noise it can render a great video useless. The microphone has multiple settings that can be adjusted from capturing audio of the entire room to a directional microphone capturing only what is directly in front of the microphone.

This is our first year of broadcasting and is a new department within our high school.

With state and school budgets seeing cuts across the board in recent years this program has received no funding. Our prosumer camera, a high end computer, tripod, and other supplies have been purchased with grants and fundraisers!
