This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The use of dry erase markers, transparencies to overlay on their screens, and LED lights will greatly affect my students' daily view on state testing in my classroom, especially in math and reading. Using these fun tools in math and reading will allow students come to my small group for guided practice and to record modeled strategies.

The markers and transparencies allow me to see exactly what they are doing as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.

The LED lights help them assosciate these activities with having fun.

What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and that students get tired without fun incentives like LED lights in their environment. Replacing these tools can be distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues, and they miss important instruction from either me or other students.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not on whether their materials are going to work or not.

By giving students dry erase markers, transparencies, and LED lights, they will associate this state testing time with fun, and this will build their confidence.

Please help me make our learning environment a fun place. Third grade is the first year my students take state tests, and I need to lay a foundation where they get excited about it. These tools will transform their view about important state assessments during their 3rd grade year and for the rest of their school careers.
