Your generosity has made a meaningful difference for my students. Because of your support, our classroom library now includes exciting and engaging titles such as the Dog Man series, Goosebumps books, The Bad Guys, and the 25th anniversary set of Harry Potter.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors love reading, but may not realize how much teaching and learning can happen through the right books. These texts help my students practice important literacy skills such as comprehension, predicting what will happen next, identifying story elements, and understanding characters and their motivations. The graphic novels like Dog Man and The Bad Guys help students learn how illustrations support the text and help readers make meaning. Books like Goosebumps and Harry Potter allow students to explore deeper plots, build vocabulary, and practice making inferences about the story.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an exciting and active time. Students participate in independent reading, partner reading, and group discussions about what they are reading. During reading time, you will see students laughing at funny scenes, sharing surprising moments from their books, and recommending titles to their classmates. These conversations help students develop confidence and a genuine love of reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled to find books they enjoyed are now excited to read. One student who was hesitant about chapter books quickly became interested in the Dog Man series because the pictures helped him follow the story. Another group of students eagerly started the Goosebumps books because they enjoy suspenseful stories and love discussing the surprising endings. The Harry Potter set has also sparked curiosity, with students already asking to be first on the waiting list to read them.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped transform reading time in our classroom. Students now have access to high-interest books that motivate them to read more, talk about stories with their classmates, and develop important literacy skills. Thank you for investing in my students and helping them grow as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1767621902334,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-a-childs-imagination-one-book-at/9767280/","projectTitle":"Fuel a Child’s Imagination – One Book at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cruz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10103563_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y91&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760556816899","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mscruzsclass"},{"teacherId":9975362,"projectId":9504106,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to our school library. Your support has made a meaningful impact on our Library Makerspace and, most importantly, on our students.\r\n\r\nOur library is already a special place where students can explore creativity and imagination. However, until now, we did not have a designated area that encouraged problem-solving and critical thinking through hands-on building. Thanks to your donation, we are able to add a Lego wall that will transform our Makerspace into an even more engaging and interactive learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe Lego wall gives students the opportunity to explore their imagination, strengthen fine motor skills, and express their unique personalities through building. As students design and create on the wall, they are learning to plan, problem-solve, and collaborate with others. Seeing their ideas come to life provides them with a strong sense of accomplishment and ownership, making learning both meaningful and fun.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a space where creativity, critical thinking, and confidence can grow every day. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for believing in our students and our library.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making a lasting difference in our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1758691630678,"projectUrl":"project/lego-a-wall-of-possibilities/9504106/","projectTitle":"Lego: A Wall of Possibilities","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9975362_orig.jpg?crop=345,346,x0,y12&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742836584062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9975362"},{"teacherId":10103563,"projectId":9834706,"letterContent":"This project has had a wonderful impact on my 3rd grade students by strengthening both their reading skills and their love for books. Through these new texts, students are practicing key literacy skills such as identifying themes, analyzing characters, making predictions, and using evidence from the text to support their thinking. We are also building vocabulary and improving reading fluency as students read and revisit the story during whole-group lessons and small-group discussions. These books have allowed me to teach reading in a more meaningful, engaging way that meets the needs of all learners.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is now an active, joyful experience. Every student has their own copy of the book, which allows us to read together, stop to discuss important moments, and dive deeper into the story. Students eagerly raise their hands to share connections, ask thoughtful questions, and reflect on the characters' choices. During independent reading time, many students choose to reread favorite chapters or discuss the story with a partner, showing increased confidence and enthusiasm for reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who once struggled to stay engaged during reading time are now among the most excited participants. Some proudly track their progress through the chapters, while others light up when they recognize vocabulary words or make connections to their own lives. Seeing my students feel successful, included, and motivated as readers has been incredibly rewarding. This project has truly helped create a community of confident readers, and it would not have been possible without your generous support.","fullyFundedDate":1762188277849,"projectUrl":"project/discovering-courage-creativity-through/9834706/","projectTitle":"Discovering Courage & Creativity Through Matilda","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cruz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10103563_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y91&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760556816899","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mscruzsclass"},{"teacherId":9975362,"projectId":9497817,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that provided our school library with Perler beads. I want you to know that this gift has had a direct, immediate, positive impact on student learning, student choice, and student creativity more than I ever could have imagined at the beginning of this project.\r\n\r\nThese perler beads were not \"just a craft\" supply. They became a bridge — especially for my students who struggle with confidence, attention, or anxiety — into successful, sustained focus.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, students had access to thousands of colors, shapes, trays, tweezers and peg boards. Students worked with the beads during our makerspace rotations, during library STEAM centers, and during our reward time.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful outcomes I saw was with several students who historically struggled to stay on task for more than 4-5 minutes at a time. While working with the Perler beads, these same students stayed in deep concentration for 20-25 minutes at a time — not because they were forced, but because they were genuinely motivated, engaged, and excited. Perler bead art created a safe, approachable pathway to productive persistence.\r\n\r\nStudents practiced pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, trial & error engineering, and expressive design. Students also naturally helped each other without being prompted — older students guiding younger ones, bilingual students translating, artistic students helping others choose colors and structure.\r\n\r\nThe best part is that students created projects that meant something to them personally. I saw so much pride every single day in every single one for their Perler beads projects.\r\n\r\nThe library became a place where students came to decompress, express themselves, and leave saying \"I made something today I didn't think I could make.\" Those moments matter. Those are the seeds of future creators, engineers, designers, and makers.\r\n\r\nYour contribution let students feel what it is like to be the kind of person who can start something hard, work through frustration, and finish with success. That experience is transformative. And it would not have happened without your generosity.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that creativity belongs in public schools. Thank you for believing that libraries can be a hub for invention and joy. And thank you for choosing to pour into these students you may never meet in person — but who will remember that somebody out there believed in them.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful. We are using these beads weekly and will continue to use them as an ongoing staple in our library makerspace.\r\n\r\nYour gift made a real difference.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1754623599504,"projectUrl":"project/unleash-your-imagination-with-perler-bea/9497817/","projectTitle":"Unleash Your Imagination With Perler Beads in the Grizzly Makerspace","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9975362_orig.jpg?crop=345,346,x0,y12&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742836584062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9975362"},{"teacherId":7624109,"projectId":8965383,"letterContent":"WE have had a ton of fun using our Makey Makeys.
