Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Help our class have an opportunity to use technology each and every day! We do not have a classroom computer and would love the opportunity to actively engage in the wide range of technological resources available.

Our school is a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced lunch.

My class consists of 30 energetic five-year-old students. Each student is coming to school from a different situation and with different educational needs. Having two tablets will allow me to differentiate the programs my students are working on and challenge their minds. Many of these students do not have technology at home. They should be getting accustomed to using technology as a device for learning as it will be necessary later in life.

My Project

We will use these two tablets with cases in learning centers. There are a large variety of free resources available for students to practice critical math and reading skills such as phonics, comprehension, and number sense. We will explore the resources available and practice for proficiency in all subjects. Our use of these tablets will also familiarize us with using technology for learning.

We will learn the impact of technology on our education and keep the skills we learn through use of this resource to prepare us for our future!
