My Students

Middle school is a tough age for everyone! Students transition from elementary school to a secondary school. They go from having 1 teacher to having 7. From being 1 of 35 in a class, to 1 of 180 students that a teacher works with.

The students I teach are 6th and 7th grade students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

Providing all of my students the opportunity to learn how to utilize technology is an important goal for me. No student should be left out because they don't have access to the same tools/opportunities as other students.

My Project

One of the many lessons we have learned from teaching and learning during a pandemic is the importance of knowing how to use technology effectively. Our students need to learn these skills, too.

In my class, students will create their own podcasts and produce their own videos to tell their story in an engaging, authentic way.

Today's students dream of being youtubers and love learning the skills associated with this. Because they are motivated and engaged, it makes learning fun! By having headsets with mics, each student can record and edit their own podcast. The i-pad tripods will help them as they produce videos and learn how to edit.

By introducing these technical skills to middle school students, I am preparing them for success in the 21st century.
