My Students

Our school serves pre-k through third grade. We have smart, talented, creative students who need a place to shine. No matter what the challenges are for these students, they are our future and deserve a great one.

My third graders are eager to learn, and I like to provide a variety of learning experiences for them to feel successful.

We use many manipulatives and trade books. We rely on background knowledge in order to build upon what we know as we tackle the rigorous curriculum. Technology is an integral part of our learning, and our need for it is great.

I look forward to watching my students grow and feel successful every year.

My Project

My current map is extremely out of date, and we reference it often to learn about places such as England when we learn about the Pilgrims and early explorers. The world is such a big place that putting an image to a name makes learning come alive.

My students are always so engaged and excited when I pull the map down and ask them to find the country or continent referenced in a story.

It just helps bring the world to us and make learning more meaningful. Knowing where a country or other state is just making the curriculum more tangible and real. How can you really understand the Pilgrims and Puritans and where they are from? How does the American Revolution become more meaningful to us? By knowing and seeing where their beginnings are from.
