Help me give my students Giant Comfy Pillows so they can really immerse themselves during independent reading time. There's nothing better than cozying up with a good book, and these pillows will help my students do that!

My Students

Students from an alternative high school often get a bad rap. They have already gone through difficult experiences that most adults haven't even had to go through.

These students have been chosen specifically to come to our school, because they are hard-working and never give up.

Regardless of what they've gone through to get to our alternative high school, they continue to show up for themselves, so that they can prove all the people who never believed in them wrong.

My Project

I teach a class for high school students who are extremely far behind their grade level in reading and comprehension. These students are often behind because of experiences that many other children never have had.

Even though I teach teenagers, I believe that they deserve to cozy up on a comfy pillow with a good book, just like elementary kids get the opportunity to do!

I know that creating a comfortable, welcoming environment will help my students learn better.

Many of my students don't have access to books at home, and if they do, many of them don't have a comfortable, quiet place where they can immerse themselves in a book. I want to provide that for my students every day in our classroom!
