Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Fantastic 1st graders who just want to learn and have fun! Most of my students really enjoy reading and are at higher reading levels and there are other students who really want to read. Some need more assistance and guidance for phonics to develop those necessary reading skills.

My students are energetic, fun, helpful kiddos who love the challenge of learning through technology.

They deserve to have individual ipads to maximize their learning experience to learn in a fun and engaging way.

My Project

Many of my students gain reading and math skills through ipads during centers. We try to make learning fun and entertaining as best we can at our school. I have some high readers, but the others seem to struggle with general phonics and reading skills, and the apps we use on ipads really boost their momentum in wanting to learn more. For most, it's their only access to technology. We only have two working ipad chargers and a lot of broken headphones. The kids have gotten accustomed to sharing a couple ipads at a time, but it would be wonderful if they could each have their own for more substantial learning during centers!
