My Students

First graders are the best! They are curious, funny, happy, kind and are so excited about anything new. Their world is just starting to open up to new people past immediate family.

They are so amazed with science experiments.

An ice cube melting or watching the different direction a chalk outline faces from the beginning of school to the end of school is mind-blowing!

They cheer each other on when they accomplish a goal or pull out a tooth.

First graders are starting to learn how to learn and how to work as a group. After a group project not long ago, I had a first grader comment, "Having 4 brains was really awesome at the same time having 4 brains was really hard!"

My Project

My classroom needs a technology update! I have a SMART board which has become a really nice decoration and a place to project the computer but we can't interact with it anymore. The software isn't supported with our newer computers.

An Apple TV with a monitor would make it possible to connect to the internet anywhere in the classroom using my computer or iPad.

I could project completed work or work we are completing together. I would be able to project the science videos and activities. I wouldn't have to adjust media for different subjects.
