Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

¡Hola! As a second-grade teacher in our Dual Language program, I proudly celebrate Latino culture through bilingual education. Our classroom is beautifully diverse; some students are native Spanish speakers, while others are Spanish language learners. Approximately 60% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch benefits, and we work hard to ensure every child has what they need to thrive.

Headphone jack adapters will allow each student to use their own headphones with their iPads to engage in individualized learning without distractions.

This will support essential activities such as listening to stories, practicing reading fluency, and completing interactive lessons. Additionally, the tablet stand holders will ensure that all iPads are kept safe, organized, and easy to manage, maximizing instructional time and promoting student responsibility.

These additional resources, including the monitor, will help accommodate our students' visual needs in the classroom by making technology more accessible, even during small-group instruction—efficient, and engaging for every visual learner. By providing the tools they need, we are helping students develop independence, focus, and the digital literacy skills necessary for continued academic growth.

Nowadays, technology plays an indispensable role during teaching, especially in a Dual Language setting. Digital tools allow me to provide immediate, tailored support to both native Spanish speakers and Spanish learners simultaneously. By integrating visual and auditory technology into our daily routines, abstract concepts become concrete, ensuring that language acquisition and core academic content are accessible to every child.
