My students are eager, friendly, and love to learn. They have potential for greatness. They come to my from a wide variety of disadvantages, but once they walk into the classroom they leave all of that behind to become their very best selves.
I love my students and only wish I could provide them with all the advantages that students from higher socioeconomic neighborhoods take for granted.
Everyday with my students is a new and exciting adventure where we are all learning together.
The purpose of Technology Together is to provide my students the basics of 21st century skills. The Chromebook I am requesting will give my students an introduction to student technology standards emphasizing collaboration, creativity, research, critical thinking, communication, and technology use. The Chromebook will promote increased engagement and provide motivation too.
This project takes learning beyond the books.
First, students collaborate to interview family members and classmates. Next, they write paragraphs and instantly co-edit as the Chromebook provides direct feedback about grammar and spelling. Finally, they use the Chromebook to record their voices, as well as those they interview. Upon playback, they immediately hear and track their increasing reading fluency on the Chromebook. Four main goals which align to our current content standards, are met within this project: research, writing, editing, and reading for fluency.
