My Students
My students are freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who have elected to be apart of our new school announcements program. These announcements are used to help increase social and emotional learning throughout the school by involving all students on campus to see what kinds of events are coming up, involving them in SEL lessons through the school's academic success course, and giving the students ownership of the announcements to represent all of the different students on campus.
My Project
One of the many goals we have had coming out of COVID-19 is to increase our student's social and emotional learning. Through the announcements, students involve their peers in games, SEL activities, and information about upcoming events at the school. Students in this class are tasked with planning out the video each week, writing a script, recording all segments, editing the video using professional editing software, and releasing the video online for all students at the school to watch. All of these tasks are aligned with the Nevada Academic Content Standards in Social Studies, and Computer Science
