Students have been naturally drawn to the display—browsing during independent reading time, flipping through pages between activities, and even sitting nearby to read first chapters. The shelves have helped create a more inviting reading space in our classroom, and the display has sparked several organic conversations about history, identity, and storytelling.\r\n\r\nStudents were immediately curious and excited. Many walked over to explore the titles as soon as they noticed the display. Several students commented on recognizing historical figures or topics they had heard about before, while others were eager to discover something new. It quickly became a focal point in the room and encouraged students to interact with books in a more spontaneous way.\r\n\r\nBuilding on this enthusiasm, I plan to organize a \"book tasting\" or gallery walk activity where students rotate between books, preview first chapters, and share recommendations with classmates. I am also considering a recurring \"First Chapter Friday\" routine to help students discover new authors and genres in a low-pressure way. These activities will continue to foster curiosity, discussion, and independent reading habits in our classroom.\r\n\r\nYour contribution helped create a space where students feel invited to explore books and ideas. Thank you for helping make reading more visible, accessible, and engaging for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1768770613558,"projectUrl":"project/a-living-classroom-library/10040121/","projectTitle":"A Living Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rojas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9991766_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743807947303","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9991766"},{"teacherId":9354841,"projectId":10012229,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. Your support has truly made a difference for my students, and we are incredibly grateful.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun using the new resources in our daily lessons, and they've had an immediate impact. Most recently, my students used them during a hands-on project where they worked collaboratively to solve real-world math problems and explain their thinking to one another. The materials allowed students to visualize concepts more clearly, engage in meaningful discussion, and take ownership of their learning in a way that wouldn't have been possible before.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was obvious. There were lots of smiles, curiosity, and comments like \"This actually makes sense now!\" It was rewarding to see students who are sometimes hesitant in math feel more confident and eager to participate. They immediately wanted to explore, ask questions, and start using the resources right away.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our next steps involve building on this momentum. Students are currently applying these tools to a longer-term project where they analyze problems, justify their reasoning, and present their solutions to their peers. The resources are helping them deepen their understanding while also developing collaboration and critical-thinking skills that will benefit them well beyond this lesson.\r\n\r\nYour support gave you a glimpse into our classroom, and I hope you know how meaningful your contribution has been.
