This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a High School that is a short drive north of Denver. I am a special education teacher specializing in mathematics.

The students I teach all have Individualized Education Programs and require additional support in mathematics.

I try to incorporate technology in my lessons every day, however not all of my students have access to phones or tablets. By having additional technology available for my students, everyone can participate fully in lessons without the feeling any shame in not having a device of their own.

My Project

I use technology every day in class to help students access new ways to improve their math skills. By having tablets available in class, those students who are unable to afford technology of their own can participate along with their peers.

All students deserve the opportunity to access the same content and learning opportunities as their more affluent peers.

I have seen how not having a personal device and not having access to a classroom device can impact how a student interacts with their peers.

By funding this project, students in my classes will have the opportunity to use technology any time it is needed.
