My students have had the opportunity to work together doing breakout box activities. We have limited supplies and many students in the school to share this fun learning experiences. Having Breakout Boxes within our department will allow us to have more options for learning. My students love when they have a breakout box day and often ask for end of unit summative assessments be done in this manner. Many students in special education struggle with communicating with both adults and their peers. These breakout box learning opportunities allow them to practice these skills that will prove to be beneficial in post secondary settings. By donating to this project you will be giving special education students the ability to build both communication and problem solving skills. My hope is that I will be able to do more breakout box activities with my students and allow them to grow into amazing young adults who will take their skills out into the world.
