I serve students with different areas of disabilities ranging from autism to specific learning disabilities. They are from low income families and are economically disadvantaged. Their learning is often hindered by different obstacles in the home. They have the desire to learn but are sometimes impeded by their circumstances. Most of them are from households where technology is either absent or limited; therefore, their use of technology is limited to the classroom environment. I want to provide technology centers for my students so that technology will be readily available to them. They use of computers makes learning more fun for them. Technology is a motivational tool for them.
I believe in my students, and I know they have the ability and the potential to succeed academically.
Providing them with the necessary tools and resources will enhance learning and enable them to become lifelong learners.
Having an additional laptop will ensure that each student has access to a laptop. I will be able to effectively provide differentiated instruction that will meet each student's specific and unique needs. In my classroom, I use various computer-based programs that help in enhancing students' learning and also help in motivating them. My goal is to ensure that each student is able to have access to a computer without having to wait for others to finish. Your donation will help in achieving this goal. The use of technology will motivate them to learn, keep their interest, and engage them in fun and learning activities. Some of the students are unable to focus for long periods of time, but, with the help of the laptop, they will be able to master a variety of skills successfully.
