Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher in a low-income school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous!

Having accessibility of technology will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. With the addition of the MacBook, my students and I will be able to research topics, document student learning, create presentations, and share their projects with school community members. Another way the funding of this grant will benefit my students is by allowing them the ability to access online websites that will support their learning, websites that will improve their reading, writing, math, science, and language building skills. My project will make a difference because, as I said before, these students are the digital natives. Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. This project will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
