My students need a Copernicus Tech Tub for a safe and efficient way to store and charge technology in the classroom.
I am a third grade ESL teacher at MFES in Providence, RI. My school is located in South Providence, RI. I work in a low income urban area and so I work to provide my students with the tools they need to be successful lifelong learners. I teach 26 students, all of whom come from different backgrounds. They are eager to learn and through technology, I am able to reach them as there are so many programs tailored to meet their needs. They are smart and hard working students who come to school with smiles on their faces ready to learn every day.
My goal for my ESL students at the end of the year is to be on level in both reading and in math.
Closing the gaps in these academic areas are so important at the early grades and I work diligently to close these gaps every day. Using technology is instrumental and I feel a tech tub is a good way for students to not only store but also access technology independently.
This technology tub will teach students to be responsible for technology in our classroom. The tub will safely store and charge technology. My classroom would benefit from this tech tub. With such an emphasis on technology, it is important to keep it in reach of students at all times. Since my room lacks outlets, this tech tub is a convenient way to keep the technology charged. Students will be in charge of charging their technology and also work together to keep our technology safe. Teaching responsibility at a young age is important and this tech tub will be one of the ways I will do so. With my school using the blended learning model, we need to make sure our technology is maximized. Keeping it safe and charged will maximize student learning. Thank you for helping teach my students accountability for our technology in the classroom.
