Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I public school, and our emphasis is on differentiating learning, meeting their academic needs, and ensuring all students are engaged in the learning of new concepts through a variety of resources. We want to make sure we reach and engage all students no matter their learning abilities. In my VPK classroom, I have students who receive speech therapy, occupational, and physical therapy. The rest of my students belong to all demographics. We have students who may have another language as their primary, but the goal is for all of them to learn the English language through our interactions, teaching, learning and activities. Technology is proving to be a strategy, and resource necessary for academic learning, and our hope is we are able to provide ample time for technology use. For the past 2 years there has been an ongoing goal in our classrooms, and that is to make sure they are all safe and have clean and healthy environments.

As an educator who is a firm believer in reaching all students ,I can really see the benefits of engaging all children and modifying my lessons to ensure that all students are learning.

My Project

In my VPK classroom we currently have some desktops that have been deemed obsolete, & the need for updated technology resources is necessary for our kids to use as a continuous learning tool.

The 5 tablets will be needed for assessments, learning games, center time use, & can be modified to meet specific needs of my students.

The tablets can have a focus on literacy, phonics, phonological awareness, letter/sound identification, counting, & other necessary Pre-K concepts that are needed for readiness in Kindergarten. Technology is becoming more necessary as a tool, so that our visual learners may learn accordingly.
