This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very fun-loving individuals who still want to learn during this very difficult time. Most of my students come from a low-income household and don't have the materials needed to successfully participate in distance learning.
My students are eager learners despite recent school closure due to COVID-19.
They still want to learn and grow during this time and I want them all to have the materials and resources to make it a little bit easier for them.
My Project
As a teacher, I have been using my own laptop to provide distance learning to my students. My laptop is a little older and is starting to have problems. Getting this project funded will help my students continue learning by allowing me to provide them with online instruction and different resources.
The Macbook and iPad will be used together so that I can provide my students with a double screen option to show them more than one resource at a time.
For example, during a math lesson, I will be able to show an anchor chart on one screen and the activity that the students will be working on the other screen. That way students will be able to refer back to the anchor chart if they needed to.
These materials will also help me plan over the summer for next school year and make sure I have everything ready and well prepared for my students return whether it is online or in person.
