I've been able to use it in so many meaningful ways that support both student learning and classroom organization.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite uses has been creating custom stickers to celebrate student testing success. These small moments of recognition go a long way in building confidence and motivation—students light up when they receive them! I've also used the label maker to create name tags for field trips, which helps ensure student safety and makes organizing groups much smoother.\r\n\r\nBeyond that, the label maker has helped strengthen our classroom community. I've made stickers for our school house team meetings to build school spirit and a sense of belonging. Students take pride in representing their teams, and these small touches help make those experiences more special.\r\n\r\nOn a daily basis, the label maker has also transformed how I organize our classroom. I've created clear, easy-to-read labels for storage bins and supplies, making it easier for students to find and return materials independently. I've also labeled student workbooks and journals, helping keep everything organized and reducing lost materials.\r\n\r\nWhen we first started using the label maker, students were immediately excited to see their names and classroom items neatly labeled—it made everything feel more official and cared for.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to continue using this tool to support organization, celebrate student achievements, and build classroom culture. It will also play a key role in helping students take more ownership of our space by keeping materials organized and accessible.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing a resource that supports not just organization, but also student pride, safety, and community. Through hands-on experiences, they explored the island's traditions, food, and environment while making meaningful connections across subjects.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments was when students got to taste plantain chips and sorbet. For many, it was their first time trying these foods, and it sparked so much curiosity and conversation. They asked thoughtful questions about ingredients, climate, and how food connects to culture. In math, students created their own \"fruit salad\" using fractions, combining cultural learning with real-world math application. In writing, they stepped into the role of travelers by creating postcards, describing the beauty of Martinique and sharing what they had learned.\r\n\r\nWhen we unpacked the materials, the excitement was immediate. Students loved being part of the process—not just using the materials, but helping bring the experience to life. They eagerly worked together to put decorations together and transform our classroom into a tropical scene, complete with scenic beach backdrops, inflatable palm trees, birds, and bright, colorful decorations. This sense of ownership made the experience even more meaningful for them.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue building on this experience by comparing cultures, reflecting on similarities and differences, and deepening their understanding of the world around them. They'll use their writing and research skills to explore new countries and continue making connections between culture, geography, and everyday life.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create an experience that allowed my students to explore, taste, create, and truly feel connected to a new culture. Each day, we dedicate time to building math fluency, and these tools have truly transformed that routine into something engaging and meaningful. Students use their fluency passports to track their progress, set goals, and celebrate their growth, which has helped build both confidence and ownership of their learning. In their grid paper journals, they carefully solve problems, organize their thinking, and take notes—just like real mathematicians.\r\n\r\nOne moment that really stood out was during a recent math block when students were working on multi-step problem solving. Instead of rushing through answers, they used their grid paper to neatly show each step, check their work, and even explain their thinking in writing. I heard students saying things like, \"I want to make sure my work is clear,\" which shows how much pride they are taking in their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students couldn't wait to start using their journals and were especially proud of having their own \"official\" math tools. The fluency passports felt like something special—they were eager to fill them in and track their progress right away.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on this strong foundation. Students will use their journals to tackle more complex word problems and begin incorporating math vocabulary and reflections into their notes. With their fluency passports, they will keep setting goals and working toward mastery, building both accuracy and speed. These resources are helping create a classroom where students feel confident, motivated, and proud to grow as mathematicians.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students tools that truly make a difference in how they learn and see themselves!","fullyFundedDate":1765997585657,"projectUrl":"project/flying-towards-fluency-in-fourth/9963248/","projectTitle":"Flying Towards Fluency in Fourth","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7276362_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753108184810","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7276362"},{"teacherId":9486431,"projectId":9830708,"letterContent":"The technology upgrades for our robotics team have been a game changer, literally! One of my favorite parts of the project is changing out the stickers by season. Whether it's fall-themed designs, winter favorites, or spring surprises, the students are always eager to see what's new. Each morning, they excitedly ask which stickers are available and work hard throughout the day to earn a chance to visit the sticker store.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stickers, their reactions were priceless. Their eyes lit up, and they immediately started talking about which ones they hoped to earn. Even small moments—like a student proudly showing off a sticker they worked hard for—have made a big impact on classroom morale and motivation.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps are continuing to build positive classroom culture as we move forward with our current lessons. The moment the Bridge the Gap Math Cards and 24 Game decks hit the table, students' faces lit up—they immediately asked, \"Can we play this during centers today?\" We now use these materials daily in small groups and during our Math Arcade time. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of students who normally struggle with multiplication excitedly coaching each other through a 24 Game challenge. They weren't just practicing math—they were collaborating, encouraging each other, and having real fun with numbers.\r\n\r\nThe digital wall clock has already changed the tone of our transitions. Students now keep track of their center rotations without prompts, and several have proudly said, \"I switched on time today!\" The math-themed stickers have become tiny badges of honor; even my reluctant learners beam when they earn one for persistence. The Breathing Buddha has quickly become our reset station—students use it for a minute or two when they feel overwhelmed, and it helps them rejoin learning calmly and confidently. The microwave and granola bars have also made a meaningful impact, especially for students who come in hungry. Being able to meet that need immediately helps them start the day focused and ready.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our unit on multiplication and division strategies, these tools are helping students build the fluency and confidence they need to tackle multi-step problems. Our next steps involve applying these skills to real-world scenarios through math projects and small-group challenges.
