My Students

We are a rural school of over 400 students. A lot of our students are out of district students who apply to get in. Our first graders are an amazing group of students that are full of life and very eager to learn.

They are at the age where hands on activities are important and teamwork is encouraged.

They often learn best when we incorporate some kind of play with the learning. With technology being so important in today's life, these kids enjoy working with all aspects of it.

My Project

In this technologically advanced world, we work hard to implement computer-based learning into our everyday lessons. STEM has become a big part of our curriculum.

Puzzlets are a great STEM activity that allow our first graders to work with technology and practice simple coding while working in teams.

The importance of social skills along side of academics is emphasized when working with Puzzlets.

Because of the size of our school, the first graders do not have a lot of opportunities to work with technology. These puzzlets will give them the chance to experience more technology as they learn in a more unstructured, fun environment.
