They are special because for 9 months "we are family." We spend more time together then we do with our own families.
Unfortunately, for some students, I am the only consistent stability in their lives. I may not be able to control their home life, but I can their classroom environment.
Some start their day tired, hungry, distracted, unmotivated, etc. and yet are expected to learn. I want every child to walk through my door and not only know, but feel they are important.
The desktop will allow students to have a computer in the classroom to be able to access information for all subject areas like math, reading, science, social studies, and writing. With the budget cuts in our school district, the outdated classroom iPads are not being replaced as they are dying out. This leaves the students having to share or wait for an open one to be available. By having this desktop we will have a backup for student use.
With this desktop, students will be able to continue to work and not fall behind their peers!
It will keep their momentum going and more importantly their interest if they are able to work at the same time as their peers.
It will also be a great way for students to do power points for projects, share their essays with their peers...the possibilities are endless!
