Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher of a high-poverty and majority free or reduced-price lunch school, my students are confronted with difficult obstacles on a daily basis. Even with these challenges, I work to create an environment that is comfortable for students to make attempts at problem-solving and not feel frustrated with their mistakes, but see them as a learning experience.

It has been an amazing experience seeing my students' problem solve at a level above and beyond what would be considered the norm for their age.

I have heard time and again from parents that our program is the focus of their conversations when they get home and are at the dinner table. My hope is that they will continue to gain confidence to take chances and learn from their mistakes.

My Project

These tools will continue to help and enhance student-driven problem solving for our future. My Technology Classroom is a place where students can take real-world problems and create inspiring solutions. With industry-led equipment students are able to find solutions that are actually applicable to what we may need in the future. Every student that is placed in my classroom is treated with respect and love. And as their teacher, I am constantly looking for new and amazing technology to challenge them into becoming smarter than they were yesterday. The gratitude of my classroom is immeasurable for all the extra opportunities you have created for student learning. Students will be able to use these tools to deepen their understanding of creating solutions.

With these new tools, our students will be able to choose from a variety of different ways to solve real-world problems.

They will also be learning industry-standard equipment and deepening their understanding of maintaining working solutions. Safety Devices is the project we need your support on. Students will use the bubble gun to see how switches and mechanisms work to create movement, the lighted gloves are used for our wearable safety devices, the 3D printer for modeling and creating parts needed to design their devices, and cameras to troubleshoot the hard to reach places within their designs. The best way to deepen their understanding is hands-on physical work with tools and equipment. My students have already shown astonishing and impressive results with their projects. With your help, students can continue shaping creative solutions.
