Have you ever read "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss? My class has read the book as well as seen the movie. My first graders are very concerned about the trees. We are also in the age of technology. Students need technology in order to keep up with the current trends in education.
My nineteen first graders attend a Kindergarten through 2nd grade school.
We have almost 700 students in a very rural community. Almost 80% of the students in our school receive free/reduced lunch. In my class, there is almost a 90% rate for free/reduced lunch. I teach 19 first graders who come from a variety of backgrounds and home situations.
My Project
Please help us get an iPad. We are using technology in a computer lab to test or assess our students but have limited technology in our classroom. By donating to this project, my students will be able to do more of their work online which is how they will be assessed. We are also saving paper and doing less work on paper. In today's society, this is ever so important for these students to become tech savvy. By receiving an iPad, my students will be able to use technology to save the trees, which they are very concerned about at the time due to our student of The Lorax. They will also be able to use technology to become successful and productive citizens in our world today which is becoming more and more technological. There are many apps my students can use for their educational experience. We are saving our paper and trees. My students need opportunities to do projects about the environment, recycling, and protecting the world in which we live. Please help us help our world.
By receiving an iPad, my class will get to put into action the idea of saving the trees as well as use the newest technology in the ever-changing world we are living.
These first graders will have access to an iPad and activities that the majority otherwise would not be able to afford.
