Technology in the Exceptional Children Classroom

Help me give my students the experience to use technology in the classroom. I am an Exceptional Children's teacher and would love to be able to let my students use technology to reinforce what they are being taught.

My Students

I am the very proud teacher of a great bunch of students who have been identified as having special needs. My school is K-8, but I specialize in grades K-5. All of my students have IEPs written to address their learning and behavioral/emotional needs.

We are a very rural, small school.

It's the little extras that don't often get funded. This is where I am asking the donors to help me and my students out.

I currently teach small groups and do not have enough technology for each student to be able to use in their respective groups.

My Project

The iPads will be used as a tool to allow my students to go online to do tasks to reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. The students will be able to work at their own pace on the iPads to receive extra help with what they are learning.

The devices will be used to watch videos, play educational games, and allow the students to do exercises to reinforce the lessons.

The students will be able to use the iPads to help them with letter/sound recognition as well as to look up unfamiliar word definitions to help them understand what they are reading better.
