Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is filled with wonderfully amazing students who I learn from daily. While our school is in a low income area and also a Title I school, students come in daily ready to learn and with smiles on their faces.

I highly promote a classroom community that is more like a family!

We share ideas, engage in group activities, share stories and work in small groups. We have a class name that is more like a team name. This sense of family and community helps my students know that they are loved and each valuable members of our team.

Many of the students within the school receive free or reduced lunch. While the family incomes are low, I have been lucky enough to have tons of parent involvement. They attend classroom events and functions to include; Moms and Muffins, Dads and Donuts, Math Night, Reading Night, Trunk or Treat and other events that both the school hosts and I myself host.

I feel that my goal is achieved if my students are eager to come to school daily and learning is made to be fun!

My Project

Our school has three online learning programs to increase reading comprehension and motivation, develop mathematical spatial-temporal skills, and prepare for standardized assessments. We also have online math programs to help gain fluency and knowledge with use of math games to propel students even further academically. In addition, we plan to begin doing research for essays and projects that require use of internet access. Use of a chromebook will allow more students to research at the same time and provide them skills that will be useful to their futures. These skills and the use of classroom technology will get them on their way to becoming college and career ready!

By donating to our project, you will be helping my students on their quest for academic achievement.

They will gain opportunities to utilize Chromebooks to work on their individual goals for these online learning programs as well as assisting them in publishing their classroom writing projects as well as to research and explore concepts and ideas in science and social studies.

We will also use the Chromebooks for projects throughout the year. Projects highly motivate students to learn. The Chromebooks will help my students gain resources needed to complete their projects in all subject areas. The Chromebooks will help to keep my students in learning mode when they are finished with an assignment early and need something meaningful to work on.

We are looking forward to having a Chromebook in our classroom!
