Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our classroom will serve 80 students throughout the school year in the areas of reading and writing. In our classroom we work extremely hard and never take no as an answer. We are working hard to get our reading on grade level and leap over any obstacle that stands in our way!

Our classroom is made up of some pretty amazing sixth grade students.

We are learning to set and attain goals for ourselves and take ownership of our learning. Each student wants to achieve their academic and future goals and I want to help set each student up for success. We are a title 1 school in a low income area, but we are not going to let fiscal issues hold us back!

My Project

My students need Ipad minis and cases to enhance our reading class and integrate reading and technology! Technology is NOT going anywhere, only advancing more and more! I would love to empower my students to be prepared for the future they will be living in! We will be integrating technology into our everyday classroom learning. We will be learning to type responses to questions and paper; as well as have teacher to student technology interaction during lessons. Sometimes I can pose questions and students can respond using technology. Ipad minis will be used in small group instruction as well as writing, listening, and classroom assessments.

The world is becoming more and more advanced with technology and students need to be prepared for the world they will be growing up in!

Students need to learn to appropriately use and integrate technology in everyday life. With adding technology to the classroom I can better prepare my students for success in their future!
