This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school each day, ready to learn and explore the world around them. They are inquisitive, full of energy and aren't afraid to take risks. Each have their own unique learning styles and thrive with opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. As their teacher, it is my responsibility to nurture and develop their learning styles with the use of technology to help prepare them for the 21st Century.
Many students in my classroom come without the basic skills in technology because it isn't readily available to them at home.
However, my students are always curious and eager to get their hands on a computer. They become excited about infusing their own creativity via the use of technology! Because they are 21st century learners, they must be prepared to keep up with the constant changes that are taking place in the digital world we live in.
My Project
The daily use of this Chromebook will provide the opportunity to increase student learning and prepare them for the digital world we live in. As a STEM educator, I teach and reinforce skills in technology such as basic keyboarding, word processing, web navigation, digital citizenship and projects that require collaboration via the use of technology. For example, students will work collaborative using Google Slides to create group presentations on an Electrical Engineering Project. My students will get to showcase their learning using these Chromebooks.
These lifelong skills will not only increase their chances for academic success, but will also ensure professional and personal success in their daily lives.
