FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. G.'s classroom raised $699

My Students
My students need Amazon Fire tablets, durable cases, and a classroom charging station for our new iPads. We are so excited to be introducing developmentally appropriate technology to create hands-on learning in our classroom.I work at a Title 1 school in New York City, where majority of the students are free and reduced lunch. My students are incredible and could really benefit from a little bit more funding. These items will benefit 64 students (our 5th grade is departmentalized).
My students work hard in class they are always focusing on achievement and college readiness.
Everyday my students come to school eager to learn with a smile on their face. Some come from homes where technology surrounds them, and some come from homes without any technology. We are taking learning to the next level and adding technology to make learning more fun! My students want to learn in a fun and innovative way.
My Project
Our class needs Amazon Fire tablets, which will allow our students to dig deeper into their learning through research, websites, and apps, in a developmentally appropriate way. Our class will be using these for projects, independent work, group work, hands-on learning, and so much more. We will also be able to use the iPads for state assessments and school-wide assessments! We will also need a way to protect the iPads/tablets against normal wear and tear and a way to charge them each day.
We need your help to ensure our technology is ready to go each day and lasts!
My students need a class set of headphones to help prepare them for the New York State Examination, students use the computer-based program I-Ready. This assessment tracks student’s strengths and weaknesses and provides additional lessons based on student’s performances. My students love working on the computer program i-Ready and completing research projects! Headphones are a necessity because the students get easily distracted when other students are sounding words out and talking themselves through problems. Headphones will help advance my students of learning on the computer by allowing them the opportunity to concentrate harder.
