Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One way I make learning chemistry more engaging is by integrating technology into my lessons. However, each class period usually has a student left out because they lack a device and cannot afford the school's technology rental fees. Due to limited funding, my school cannot provide teachers with devices to keep in their classrooms.

Giving my students access to an iPad in the classroom will allow those without their own device to actively engage in lessons and activities, rather than having to peer over their classmates' shoulders just to get a glimpse of the screen.

Most of my students come from low-income homes, meaning many of them may feel insecure about their appearance or possessions due to financial limitations. The iPad will allow students to present and share classwork by wirelessly projecting it onto the smartboard, without having to come to the front of the classroom. This eliminates any discomfort students may feel presenting in front of the class.
