Technology in an All Boys Class: Need Kinesthetic eBeam Edge
My students need an Interactive Whiteboard to supports their fidget-friendly mindset and classroom. This ALL BOYS class need to move to focus on complicated mental tasks.
When the 22 boys walk into the class, they are eager and excited to learn. They never sit perfectly in their chairs and have to be in a fast-paced environment to learn. Increasing students daily activity level in the classroom provides physical and mental benefits to achieve their academic success.
We are a Title 1 school that just opened this year with the charter being gender differentiation.
This means boys and girls are in different classes in order to work with their individual gender-based learning styles. There are significant differences in the ways girls and boys learn, differences which are more substantial than age differences in many ways. In other words, a 7-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy differ, on average, on parameters such as, "How long can you sit still, be quiet, and pay attention?"
I am the teacher of 22 boys in a 1st/2nd grade combo and they cannot sit still, stay quiet and pay attention for a very long time unless they are actively moving and wanting to learn about the subject. My boys are less motivated to learn unless the material itself interests them. There energy is contagious and I don't want to loose their energy in the classroom. This methodology includes project-based education facilitated with hands-on, kinesthetic learning.
My Project
I am asking for an eBeam Edge which transforms any flat surface into an interactive teaching experience. This will instantly makes my classroom interactive with my existing whiteboard increase the use of graphics, pictures, and storyboards in literacy-related classes and assignments This will create, interactive, picture/graphic lessons. incorporate a range of interactive tools, such as an Google image library, into their lesson plans with minimal training. The intuitive interface and tools ability will be used effectively to focus more on curriculum and professional development, rather than technical malfunctions. It is easy for the boys to use and doesn't require any clunky products. This material will increase my students engagement and use of multimedia tools in lessons.
The eBeam Edge will help to develop visual learning, while supporting aural and logical thinkers. I could utilize PowerPoint for flash cards and access to the Internet to view interactive videos.
Movement is the key to learning.
Kinesthetic intelligence flourishes success in my classroom - where movement is central to my teaching. This will provide competitive learning opportunities, even while holding to cooperative learning frameworks.
I have used movement to save myself from drowning in this classroom. Through the disruptions and their glazed eyes and tapping feet, through their aggression or confusion, they are pleading for HELP to harness and challenge our powerful energy.
