Technology - Headphones for Individual Use

Help me give my students individual headphones to use with computers at home and in the classroom and an individual, reusable write and wipe pocket folder to cut down on paper use.

My Students

My kindergarten classroom is made of of students who attend a southern Arizona, Title I school. The students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Ninety-five percent of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and come from low-income households.

During these uncertain times due to COVID-19, I strive to bring the best teaching practices and foster a positive - collaborative learning environment with individual tools and supplies needed to grow students' academic minds and strengthen their fine motor skills.

I know my students are looking forward to returning to school in a safe and nurturing environment.

My Project

Technology is an important aspect in education, and it is specifically built into our curriculum. In addition to computers, it is especially important to have individual headphones do to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I strongly believe individual headphones will increase the effectiveness in teaching phonemic awareness -- allowing students to crisply hear sounds and correctly articulate responses.

In addition, individual headphones will help eliminate household noises and family distractions during school hours. When in-person classes resume, these headphones will continue to be used by that individual student and will eliminate cross-contamination use by other classmates.

I currently have a couple of these headphones in my classroom. They are durable, and my students have had great success using them in class.

The pack of reusable write and wipe pockets will help cut down on paper use. Students can use a dry erase marker and felt to write and erase while practicing their penmanship and math exercises.
