My kindergarten students are very active. I am working with curriculum that does not offer any tactile materials.
My students working at centers will have the opportunity to explore, touch, move and create exciting new experiences while learning about basic kindergarten skills. By having educational, hands-on centers, it will allow me to work with smaller groups of students to drive home concepts.
A gift of four headphones will allow four students to use our classroom computers. The computers have access to digital materials that tie into our curriculum. Our class can not use the computers since the volume will disrupt the class.
The Language Instant Learning Centers will allow students so many opportunities to build letter recognition, beginning sounds and early sight words. I have a couple students who can benefit from the higher level centers like rhyming sounds, syllable count, and down the road building simple sentences.
Lace-a-Word Beads will work on hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and recognition of letters in the students' names.
Finally, my class will enjoy the introduction to nonfiction and fiction stories. The kids will benefit with easy differentiation with leveled stories and exercises I can work in small groups.
