My Students
Our school is in Brooklyn, NY, it is a bilingual school of students from Hispanic and Haitian background. Not to mention the fact that we have a multitude students from other countries around the world (Africa, Asia and Yehmen) that also attend our school.
Approximately 90% of our students receive free or reduce lunch, and many of which come from non-English speaking homes.
My class consist of 25 energetic and curious student who need the opportunity to reach their learning goal, by having access to 21st century technology,
My Project
The computers will enable more of my students to have access to technology in the classroom. I presently have five computers which makes it difficult to complete projects in a timely manner. The students will be able to research and publish there work. Students will practice in reading and mathematics using free online programs. Students will have opportunity to present projects using google slides to create presentations, google docs to send and receive immediate feedback from peers and teacher.
"Technology for Survival" will facilitate the exposure to the world of coding and many other fantastic programs.
Technology foster higher order thinking skills we demand from our students. The paradigm has shifted and our students deserve the opportunity to compete and thrive.
