Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school emphasizes the respect of self and others. This encompasses discipline and high expectations as well as activism and compassion. The kids know they will be agents of change and follow our school motto, "Be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Ghandi
We are classified as a "highest poverty" school, and the kids at our school are brilliant.
They deserve excellent educational resources. Although my kids may lack financial resources, they have an incredible work ethic and desire to learn. We are a full Title I school; a vast majority of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
Our students may lack the material privileges that other American children are fortunate to have, but they certainly make up for it with talent, fortitude, and sheer intelligence. We live in a world where our youth are simply not provided with enough quality resources to shine; your donation will make the dream of a bright future come true.
My Project
"Is it my turn, Ms. K? When am I going to be able to go to our site, Ms. K?" My second grade students sometimes wait two or three days before being able to create documents, practice their skills with the games I designed, or complete a research project. They need new technology! Three laptops will enable students to access our class qr codes and website where I posted my video-lessons for review, practice games I created, and take quizzes. I could follow their progress as they will be working independently. New technology will also help students to review vocabulary through slide shows. Students will be able to type their stories and writings they create. Students will also be able to access Google classroom where they can type their journal entries and justify their thinking on math problems. The speed of these new machine will allow more students to work at it.
Never has society so rapidly changed.
By supplying my students with the flash drives needed to save work on computers, you are allowing us to move forward with technology. The joy the students have when typing and using the computers is priceless. Students often try to complete assignments on time knowing the computer is readily available. Students love playing with font, colors, and adding pictures to the assignments. If every student has a flash-drive to save work, it cuts the time needed to spend running around the room to save work. Please help save our time and donate some flash-drives.
