My Students

The kiddos I teach are so unique, in a Kindergarten and 1st autism room. I can honestly say that not one child is the same as the others. There ability levels range from pre-academics skills to above grade level skills. They are just a joy to be around, many of them are working on learning self-regulation and social skills. In a self-contained autism program things may look a little different as they learned at different paces, some are faster compared to others. They require a certain level of sensory needs, and some time academics get put on hold due to the need in a different area.

My kids are capable of so much, and I know these early years are the most important for their success!

My Project

The students in my classroom learn by utilizing a variety of modes. Some of my kiddos are not able to write using basic writing utensils. Ipads will help provide my students with a different way of learning and communicating through technology. Students in my classroom will utilize Ipad on a 1:1 basis, whole group, and even in small groups. They will be able to develop writing, fine motor, pre-academic and academics skills, as well as a more engaged learning environment.

Many kiddos with autism tend to learn from a more hands-on, manipulative technology, Ipads would open that door for them.
